Club President Karen McVaigh opened the meeting by asking Dee Baughman to lead his fellow Lions in song. Lion Ed Jones led the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Pete Sherwood led his fellow Club members in prayer.
Lion Vicki Whitehouse won the “no-fine” badge for the meeting.
James McNulty and Deborah Volison of Kaweah Delta Health Care were guests at the meeting.
Lion Dee Baughman performed the induction ceremony for our newest Lion, Brent Robinson.
President Karen shared that the next meeting of the Club’s Executive Board will be on November 14th at Left of Center.
Red Sox fan Allen Ventling auctioned off a Dodgers towel he picked up at Game five of the World series.
Lion Tom Link auctioned off a bag of salt water taffy from his recent trip to the Coast. Lion Betty Odell bought the taffy for a donation of six dollars.
Lion Dee Baughman collected one dollar apiece from loyal Dodgers fans after their loss in the World Series.
Lion Allen had a great time at the World Series Finale. His son traveled on to Boston for the victory parade.
Lion Carol Jones was enjoying her second day of retirement.
Lion Craig Wheaton was happy the election was almost over. He also invited Lions to see “Democracy in Action” with him on Tuesday night at the Planing Mill Restaurant.
Lion Daryl Farnsworth had a good time at his 60th High School Reunion.

Lion Rick McVaigh won five-dollar raffle and donated the proceeds to the La Sierra Leo Club. Lion Rick also won the free ad. Lion Daryl Farnsworth won a shot at the marble drawing but failed to find the coveted white marble.
James McNulty, Kaweah Delta’s Pharmacy Director, described the state of the current national opioid epidemic. Drug overdoses have now replaced vehicle accidents as the leading cause of injury death in the United States. To combat the problem Kaweah Delta has established pain management services, which, to the extent possible, focus on alternatives to opioids. The program has resulted in a significant drop in emergency responses associated with opioid use, and has also resulted in improvement in patient satisfaction.
