Announcements

Our monthly evening meeting is this Wednesday night, October 26th, at 5:30, at Quail Park Shannon Ranch.

Guests

We had three guests today, Visalia School district superintendent Kirk Shrum, who was our program, with him was Andre Pecina, who, based on the information on his business card says he is an Administrator, communications, strategy, and outreach for the district. Also with us was president Tony’s wife, Nancy.

Auction Items

Lions Betty and Aaron had been to Lake Tahoe and brought back a box of fudge that Lion Betty auctioned off for $13 to Lion Karen, with Lion Pat chipping in $3 of that total.

Happy Bucks

Lion Dee was happy as he made the choking motion because the Dodgers had lost in the first round of the playoffs. The ABD (anyone but the Dodgers) wish had come true.

Lion Miriam was going camping at Pismo for one night; it would be her first time camping, so one night was good, in case this was not to her liking.

Lion Craig was happy because he was leaving for a trek in Nepal on Monday.

Lion Karen was happy for the visitors today, and happy Lion Pat helped here with the purchase of the fudge.

Lion Bob Line was happy because the logo now being used for Visalia Unified was designed when he was superintendent.

Lion Allen was happy the two vision screenings went well at the charter schools this past Wednesday. He was also happy Lion Craig helped out.

Lion Tom Link was happy the band review went so well last Saturday.

Fines

Lion Betty fined Lion Roy because he had his badge sideways.

Lion Karen fined herself for haveing to leave early.

Lion Tom Link was fined because he was late.

Winners and Losers

$5 went to Lion Roy who donated it to the Eye Foundation.

Lotto tickets went to Lion Pat.

Lion Craig drew for the coveted white marble but came up with another color that did not net him anything.

Visalia Unified superintendent Kirk Shrum was our program today, and he talked about his coming to Visalia from Georgia and his vision for the district. It was an informative program. It is interesting to note that when he went looking for a new job, he selected districts where he thought he could make a difference, not just come into a position but work to build and make it better.
