Todays Meeting
Lion stand-in President Roy led our meeting today and called on Lion Dee to lead us in singing God Bless America, Lion Pat for the flag salute, and Lion Bob Line to do the invocation.
Your roar editor, Lion Roy, won the no-fine badge again this week, two weeks in a row.
Our secret greeter was Lion John, who was so popular that only Lion Tom Link didn’t shake his hand.
Announcements
Lion Roy announced next week’s board meeting at Vahala’s Restaurant at 7 AM on Wednesday the 13th.
Lion Steve announced next week’s meeting will be our annual Christmas Party. It will be held at our regular meeting on Friday the 15th at noon at our normal Left of Center location. Steve sent a sign-up sheet around. If have not signed up, please get in touch with Roy at 559-289-2382 to let me know if you will be in attendance and if you plan on having a guest. We will have the Redwood Coral group with us for entertainment.
Next week’s meeting: Please bring two toys, one for a boy and one for a girl. They will be given to Visalia Emergency Aid who will be there to receive our annual donation. We will also be taking donations for our server, Daniel for all his hard work this year.
Auction
Lion John has been brewing beer again and his latest is a Chocolate Cherry Stout that Lion Karen purchased for $22.
Happy Bucks
Lion John was happy to be at our meeting today since it was the Christmas rush and he normally has to be in one of his stores, but this year he has them running like a well (shoe) polished machine.
Lion Pete was $15 happy that his wife brought home a branch from the family’s old ranch that was sold back in 1932.
Lion Roy was happy that nobody was hurt in a car accident he was involved in. He totaled his old Suzuki hatchback and has been out car shopping.
Lion Leigh (who took notes for the roar today, thank you) was happy because he was celebrating his 37th wedding anniversary.
Lion Tony was happy that his son and daughter-in-law were becoming foster parents.
Lion Tom Link was happy because he played a very cold round of golf this morning and shot two pars, though he did lose three balls on one hole.
Lion Mark was happy that his daughter was doing well at her new physical therapy job.
Lion Roy had a happy buck for Lion Leigh taking notes for this newsletter.
Fines
Lion Dee fined Lion Tom Link, for coming in late and not closing the back door. Asking Tom if he was raised in a barn.
Lion Elaine fined herself for not having a badge on, plus Lions Tom Link and Tom Gaebe were also fined for not having their badge on.
Lion Leigh draws for the white marble, coming up short.
Drawings
The $5 drawing went to Lion Pat who donated it to the Leo Club.
Lotto ticket: Lion Allen
The marble drawing went to Lion Leigh, who picked a nonwhite marble, winning nothing but that nonwhite marble.
