Mary Bryant from the Mooneys Grove Project talked to the club.
Todays Meeting
Lion President Melinda led our meeting and called on Lion Allen to lead us in saluting the flag, Lion Dee to lead us in singing God Bless America, and Lion Brad to do the invocation.
We had several guests today; three from the Mooney Grove Project were with us as our program, plus four of Leo’s students and their advisor, Laura from La Sierra.
The no-fine badge went to Lion Betty today.
Today’s secret greater was Lion Tony, who fined Lion Tom Link and Lion Elaine for not shaking his hand.
Announcements
Next week’s meeting will be our annual student speaker contest. Lion Brad, who has been in charge of arrangements for our club, has reported that we have two speakers confirmed.
Lion Allen announced that those who had participated in the Super Bowl pool needed to select their squares. See the photo of the super bowl chart below to check your numbers.
Lion Allen also reminded us about the Young Lifes banquet on Friday, February 23rd; we still have three seats left if any club member wants to attend.
Lion Melinda announced that the last morning board meeting at Valhalas will be this coming Wednesday at 7 AM; starting in March, we will be going back to an evening board meeting to be held at Mountain Mikes on Mooney Blvd.
Melinda also announced that she will visit former members Ed and Carol Jones in Texas so will not be able to lead the next couple of meetings, Lion Dee offered to step in.
Happy Bucks
Lion John had twenty happy bucks because he had a complete knee replacement a month ago, and things were going great.
Lion Dee was happy the Leos were with us today.
Lion Tom Link was $10 happy because his daughter’s play, The Sound of Music (she is the director at Green Ackers), will be taking place this weekend. He was also happy that he had spent the past week playing golf with a group of guys at the coast. He said the golf was not good, the company was. The weather had been a bit wild, and the wind got so hard at one point that he almost lost his footing.
Lion Betty was happy that her son and his wife were coming to visit.
Lion Brad was happy that the Los Vegas Raiders were not getting to play in their own stadium on Sunday because a couple of other teams were going to be playing there. Something about his team, the 49ers, playing is some game.
All the Leos had a happy buck.
Lion Allen was also happy the Leos were here, plus he was also happy he had finished four days of intensive training in his new job with the census bureau.
Lion Karen was happy to see the Leos and the Mooney Grove Project.
Lion Melinda was happy to see the Leos, The Mooney Grove Project, and that Lions John and Colin were here.
Lion Roy was happy to see the Leos.
Fines
Lions Elaine and Karen fined themselves for not having their badges with them.
Three of the Leo’s tell us about their experence in the club.

The $5 drawing went to Lion Allen, who donated it to the Leo Club.
