Todays Meeting

Lion President Melinda led our meeting today and called on Lion Leigh to lead us in saluting the flag, Lion Dee to lead us in singing America the Beautiful, and Lion Bob Line to do the invocation.

No fine badge went to Lion Tom Gaebe.

Lion Bob Line was our secret greeter today and only Lions Mark and Tom, who were late, didn’t shake his hand.

Announcements

Discussions at our board meeting last Wednesday at Mountain Mike Pizza included the progress on merging our clubwith the Sequoia Lions Club. The board heard from several who were at the meeting with the Sequoia group. All agreed this was a positive move for both clubs. One of the things to be decided was the day of the week we will meet. Sequoia Club meets on Tuesday, and we also discussed that that could be a better day for us. We have another meeting with the Sequoia Club on Wednesday, May 22. We also talked about a delay in setting the list of officers for the 24-25 year until more progress with the merger. That could allow us integrate offers between the two clubs.

Also, please keep Lion Tony and his wife Nancy and their family in your thoughts and prayers as Nancy’s father passed away a few days ago, and they have gone back to Colorado, where he lives, to help with arrangements.

Happy Bucks

Lion Pat was happy that his daughter had started her new position at the VA near San Diego in wound care.

Lion Mark was happy that he was going to an outdoor concert at Fresno’s Woodward Park this weekend.

Lion Melinda was happy about the good weather.

Lion Colin and Lion Aaron were both happy to be here today.

Lion Tom Link was happy he was going to Moro Bay for the weekend. He was also happy that he would be going to a retirement party for all the Visalia Unified School District employees who had taken their Golden Handshakes for early retirement, his daughter being one of them.

Lion Pete was happy his son-in-law had just graduated from the University of North Carolina with an MBA. He was also happy his two grandsons were on the Cal Ripkin, All-star team.

Lion John was happy to see his Sister and Brother In Law, who had come to town to play in a pickleball tournament.

LIon Bob Line was happy that Lion Lauri Aguilar had been promoted to Quail Park at Cypresses’s head of Memory Care and is hopeing that she will be able to come back to our club.

Lion Leigh was $2.22 happy because he had cought a 22 inch trout. Lion Dee suspected it was a fish story but Lion Leigh said it was not just a story, what it was was about three meals.

Lion Allen was happy to talk with his son Travis recently and hear that as an Air Marshall he was going from Vancover to London to Hawaii to Las Vegas this week. It’s a hard job keeping the airlines safe but somone has to do it and that someone is Travis.

Lion Dee was happy to be Alive.

Lion Roy was happy that he was able to ride his motorcycle today and on a day ride to the Kings River above Pine Flat lake on Tuesday. 

Fines

Lion Tom Link and Lion Mark were fined for being late. Lion Mark was fined an extra doller for sneeking in the back door.

Lion Tom Link was also fined for having his name tag upside down.

Lion Pete was fined for not having his name tag.

Lion Melinda has Lion Dee draw for the marble, but he came up empty.

Drawings 

The $5 drawing went to Lion Pat who donated it to the Leo Club.
