Visalia Host Lions meeting for July 14th 2023

Todays Meeting

Lion President Mark led our meeting today and called on Lion Betty to lead us in saluting the flag, Lion Bob Line to lead us in singing God Bless America, and Lion Dee to do the invocation.

Greater Lion Allen introduced our guests today, Lotella (Lola) Hail and her mom Karen from Diamonds Cheer & Dance Company, who were our program today. 

No fine badge: Went to Roar Editor Lion Roy. 

Announcements 

Lion Bob Line announced that Lion Bob Bricker was experiencing some bad back pain, and that is why when have not seen him at a meeting in a few weeks. Lion Bob, We are all thinking and praying for your swift recovery and hope to see you back soon.

Lion Allen announced a couple of visitations coming up. The first,  on Monday the 17th, with the Visalia Pride Club at St. Paul’s church at 6:00 PM. This is a potluck, so bring your pot–no, wait, a pot of food. The second visitation is with the Exeter Lion Club on Thursday, July 27th, at 6:45 AM.

Lion Karen let us know that there was a Murder Mystery Dinner committee meeting last Tuesday. Family Health Care Network just came on board as a sponsor, and things are ramping up for the big day, September 16th. We need two $25 gift cards from each member of the club.

Lion President Mark announced that Board Meetings will now be held in the mornings at Valhalla’s on Center Street. They will still be on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:45AM.

 Happy Bucks 

Lion President Mark was happy to get the bell back as it had been hidden from him. 

Lion Leigh was happy to have a donor with deep pockets (a constrictions ferm) for the upcoming Special Olympics golf tournament. 

Lion Tom Gaebe was happy to have gone on a cruise to Hati, the Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic. 

Our guest and fellow Lion Lola (Sequoia Club) was happy to be with us today and happy for all the Lionism. 

Lion Roy was happy to have been able to ride his motorcycle today. 

Lion Karen was happy because she will be in North Carolina and Tennessee next week. 

Lion Allen was happy he was going to Oakland to watch his beloved Red Sox play and maybe even win the As. 

Lion Pete was happy that both the Giants pitchers in the recent All-Star Game pitched shutout ball. He was also happy that his grandson was going to Utah to play in the Cal Ripkin all star tournament. 

 

Fines

Lion Mark fined himself for not having his badge and for not having a secret greater at todays meeting. 

Lion Dee fined our tail twister, Lion Elaine, for being late and not having a badge on. 

Lion Karen also fined herself for not having a badge. 

Lion Aaron also fined himself for not getting to the meeting today in a timely manner to do his Lion Tamer job. 

Lion Colin fined himself for missing a few meetings, work, work, and more work. 

Lion Allen fined Lion Bob Line because once Lion Bob Bricker moved in to Quail Park Shannon Ranch, where Bob Line lives, he was unable to attend the meetings. 

Lion Dee fined Lion Allen for making Lion Karen’s baby granddaughter cry.

Todays program was Lola Hail with Diamonds Cheer & Dance Company, a nonprofit dance studio offering lower-income kids a chance to compete. Lola is also a fellow lion, being a member of the Sequoia Lions Club here in Visalia.
