The July 26th meeting began with a patriotic song led by Lion Pat Harrison. Aaron Odell performed the invocation and Lion Jeff Meader led the flag salute.
Retired journalist Paul Hurley was a guest for the meeting.
Lion Tony Loliva won the “no-fine” badge for the meeting.
Announcements
President Ruth Mckee provided an update on the progress of the Charity Golf Tournament Committee. The next meeting will be on Monday 7/29 at the Starbucks on Riggins. Gift cards, players and Tee Sign Sponsors are still needed.
Lion Tom Link shared that the Tulare County Historical Society is selling tickets to the August 7th Rawhide Game with seats in the Hall of Fame Club for a donation of $15. On August 6th the Mighty Oak Chorus will be singing our National Anthem.
Lion Tony Loliva generously donated twenty dollars in lieu of bringing back an auction item from his recent travels.

Lion Jeff Meader will be heading to San Diego with his family next week.
Lion George Fry enjoyed the salmon and asparagus at lunch.
San Francisco Giants fan Pete Sherwood donated one dollar for each game his team is above .500 this year and challenged all Dodgers fans to do the same.

Retired journalist Paul Hurley describe the changes he has seen in local newspapers over the past 40 years. He reported that local print newspapers will probably continue to exist, but as regional papers with far less up-to-date local reporting than in years past.
