Todays Meeting
Today’s mid-August meeting was led by 1st Vice President Roy for the first couple of minutes, and he called on our newest member, Lion Kevin, to lead us in saluting the flag, Lion Bob Line to lead us in singing the patriotic song, and Lion Dee to do the invocation. Lion President Colin quickly appeared and took over leadership duties.Â
Lion Tony announced our two guests, Tracy Polknownikow, today’s speaker, and Mary Jo Eastes from Arts Visalia.
Announcements
Lion Melinda announced that this year’s installation dinner will be held either the last Wednesday in August or the first Wednesday in September. We’ll be letting you know by email.
Note: Board Meeting next Friday, 11 AM, at Left of Center.
Joke of the day
Lion Colin told the joke of the day: What do you do when you do not get the job you applied for at the sunscreen factory?  You re-apply, of course.  Badabing-badaboom…

Happy BucksÂ
Lion Dee was happy that his granddaughter had a baby.
Lion Tom Link was happy that he had moved back to his home and out of the cottage at Quail Park Cypress.
Lion Karen was happy that her three grandkids were all in school and that she was no longer babysitting every day.
Lion Geoff was happy his kids were back in school and happy that Karen didn’t have to watch them, though he was very appreciative.
Lion Melinda was glad that things were settling down in her life and that the 100th anniversary was in her rearview mirror. She was also happy she could celebrate Carol Jones’s 70th birthday recently, and that the weather had cooled enough for her to sleep with her window open the night before.
Lion Mark was happy that Lion Allen had been arranging the Vision screenings and that the most recent one had gone well.
Lion Betty was also glad Allen was organizing the Vision screenings.
Our guest today, Mary Jo with Arts Visalia, was happy to be with us; of note, she is also a Lion and a member of the Breakfast Lions Club here in town.
Lion Roy was happy to see our guests from Arts Visalia with us today, and he was also glad he could ride his motorcycle to the meeting.
Lion Allen was happy that Lions Amy and Rick helped with the recent eye screening, and that Lion Amy’s husband, Luca, also stayed to help. He was also happy that he did not get in an accident on his way down from Balch Park recently; several wild drivers, including a UPS truck, ran him up the side of the road at one point.
